McNew Family

Curtis McNew : 4/11/1967 - 4/30/2012

Dear Heidi,

I am so sorry this letter has taken almost a month to compose and send. It seems that since we returned from our trip to Dallas things have been unbelievably hectic, especially with the holidays.
Where do I ever begin to tell you what an incredible gift the trip to Dallas was for our family? Our boys have not stopped talking about the fun we had, and Curtis, Mom, and I all have special memories that we hold dear.
The people at Southwest Airlines were so generous in allowing our family to fly to Dallas. The boys loved the flight and the staff was so courteous and helpful. When the weather and our health made traveling home difficult Southwest graciously rearranged our travel plans. We are so thankful for their kindness.

The staff at the Westin Stonebrier made us feel so welcomed and pampered. The hotel itself is beautiful and our rooms were lavish. Each and every person we came into contact with went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and pleasure, even sending up a care package when we became ill. Our meals were magnificent and the dining staff so kind. I cannot begin to tell you how special our family was made to feel during our stay or how grateful we are to the staff.
We so enjoyed our time at the zoo and the aquarium and appreciate very much those places gifting tickets to our family. The boys are still talking about petting and feeding the giraffe at the zoo and the penguins were a huge hit at the aquarium. We continue to be amazed at the kindness and generosity of others.

Our trip to Six Flags was most definitely the favorite of our middle son, Preston. We were treated so well during our visit there, including the graciousness of our wonderful guide, Dave. He was so good with our boys and made their visit so much more enjoyable, even riding the rides with them and allowing them to be in the front of waiting lines. Dave went out of his way to see our family had fun, setting up VIP meetings with the characters and finding rides the boys would enjoy. We all loved the sweatshirts that were given to us and it was such an extra special treat.
The time at the Cowboys’ game was amazing! We were all excited about watching pregame from the sidelines and seeing the players and coaches “up front”. The seats we were given in the club level were phenomenal. We never expected to be treated to such an unforgettable visit.
When I think back on this trip I will forever be grateful to all the people who gave so generously to give our family such luxury and memories. Seeing the boys enjoy such special experiences with their father is a treasure I will hold forever in my heart. Being able to see the joy in my husband’s eyes as his boys laughed and delighted in each new event was priceless to me, as I know it was to him. Having my mother there to help and share in each memory was an extra special gift to each one of us. Words would never be able to express the meaning of this trip to us, the gratitude we feel, or the memories we treasure. Saying thank you seems more than insignificant. We could never fully express our hearts. Thank you so much for gifting this trip to our family. Thank you to each of the donors who made this possible. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to experience such kindness and luxury and affording us such special time as a family. All six of will forever be grateful.

With Love and Appreciation,
Curtis, Karma, Linda, Parker, Preston, and Pierce
